The 45 mil EPDM liner is the ultimate in pond construction, manufactured specifically for ponds, and is the standard of the industry. 

It has an estimated life span of 50 to 100 years. Safe for fish and aquatic plants, and very tough. Be very careful to purchase only guaranteed fish safe EPDM. Firestone is the only manufacturer to pass a stringent EPA fresh water organism toxicity test with their PondGard Fish Grade liner.This liner is now marked with a Fish logo at the factory. Industrial EPDM has chemical differences, is not EPA certified, and does not carry the fish-safe logo.
