Small mimosa-like leaflets close up when touched. Unique flotation material like soft styrofoam surrounds floating stems. Yellow flowers are feathery balls. Grows quickly in warm weather. Does not tolerate cold. Pretty and different; fascinating to kids and adults. Prefers roots anchored in the soil. Sold bare root (also sold potted in hallow Water Plants).
